Wow. What can I say about Ray that would truly do him justice. I have worked with Ray as my leadership and racial awareness coach as I have navigated my role as the President of NTL institute. With an open, grounded, compassionate, direct and challenging presence, working with him changed my world and my understanding of it. I have come to understand, experientially, how systemic marginalization and racism is the collusion of both the perpetrators, colluders and the uncomfortable bystanders who play their part in preserving and even strengthening the status quo. The real work is always in the here and now and it starts from within. I know that these inner changes will make me more effective in all my work and my life and help be a stand for the change I want to see in my life. Ray is a masterful coach and embodies all that is right and good about the helping professions. I will always owe a deep debt of gratitude for the insights and awareness that he enabled in me, to make me a more compassionate and open hearted leader and person.
